Named for the Tang Dynasty that ruled in China from the 7th Century to the 10th Century.
The mask is carved from Port Orford Cedar with brass escutcheon pins emphasizing the natural grain of the wood. I found the old MaJong pieces in an open air market in Ubud, Bali.
When first carved and finished the Port Orford Cedar was very white. Now that the mask is several years old the wood has darkened a bit to take on the look of old ivory.
Dimensions: 18" (including the "collar") X 9" wide X 5.5" deep.
